Morning – The Road to the Sea
As we pick you up from your hotel in the early morning, the city slowly wakes up around you. Leaving behind the busy streets, we travel south toward the coast, where the air becomes fresh and salty, and palm trees sway gently in the wind.
With comfortable transport and a friendly guide by your side, your coastal adventure begins.
Hikkaduwa – Madu River Where the Ocean Comes Alive
Our first stop is Hikkaduwa Beach, famous for its coral reefs and clear blue waters.
Here, you can walk barefoot on soft sand, watch colorful fish swimming near the shore, or simply relax and enjoy the sound of waves. If you wish, you may try snorkeling or take a glass-bottom boat ride to explore the underwater world.
Nearby, sea turtles often visit the shallow waters, offering a magical moment for nature lovers.
Galle Fort – Walking Through History
Next, we arrive at the legendary Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Dutch over 400 years ago.
As you walk along its stone walls, you will feel transported to another time. The ocean stretches endlessly on one side, while narrow streets, old churches, colonial houses, and cozy cafés welcome you inside the fort.
Visit the lighthouse, clock tower, and historic museums. Browse handmade crafts and enjoy coffee with a sea view. Every corner here tells a story.
Midday – A Taste of the South
After exploring Galle, we stop for lunch at a seaside restaurant.
Enjoy fresh seafood, traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry, or international dishes while listening to the waves nearby. This is your moment to relax and recharge.
Bentota – Where Madu River Meets the Ocean
In the afternoon, we continue to Bentota, where nature shows its peaceful side.
Take a gentle boat safari along the Bentota River, passing through mangrove forests and quiet waterways. Watch birds glide above, spot small crocodiles resting on riverbanks, and visit a cinnamon island to learn about traditional spice production.
Later, walk along Bentota Beach, where golden sand meets turquoise water. Feel the breeze, take sunset photos, and enjoy the calm atmosphere.
Turtle Hatchery – Protecting Life
If you wish, we also visit a turtle hatchery, where injured turtles are cared for and baby turtles are protected before returning to the ocean.
This stop reminds us of the importance of protecting Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.
Evening – Journey Back with Memories
As the sun slowly sets, painting the sky with orange and pink colors, we begin our return journey.
