Down South

The journey begins as you travel toward the south coast, leaving the busy city behind. Palm trees, rivers, and open beaches start to appear along the road.

You arrive in Bentota, known for its wide sandy beaches and calm atmosphere. The rest of the day is for relaxing by the sea, walking along the beach, or simply enjoying the ocean breeze.

After breakfast, the journey continues further south along the coastline.

You visit Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through the fort feels like stepping into another time, with stone walls, colonial buildings, narrow streets, and ocean views. There is time to explore cafés, shops, and viewpoints along the fort walls.

Later, you continue to Mirissa, a relaxed beach town famous for its soft sand and peaceful setting. The evening is free to enjoy the beach, watch the sunset, or relax near the ocean.

🌙 Overnight: Mirissa

The final day begins near the sea.

You spend time at Mirissa, enjoying the beach atmosphere before continuing to Weligama. Weligama is known for its long beach, fishing traditions, and relaxed coastal life.

After enjoying the coastal scenery, the journey continues back to Colombo or the airport, bringing the Down South experience to a peaceful close.
